Faculty Bio

Chinyere Christiana Okpala Chukwuka is the Dean School of Law at Charisma University in Grace Bay, Providenciales, Turks, and Caicos Islands. She developed and launched both Ph.D. in Law and LL.B Degree programs at the University. She is the Chair of the Ethical Committee at Charisma University. As a professor, she teaches International Law courses and other management courses. She currently sets up Ph.D. dissertation committees and supervises students’ dissertations.Professor Chukwuka is a visiting Professor at Prince Songkla University, Hat Yai, Songkhla, Thailand, where she lectures on Anti-Terrorism Law.Dr. Okpala Chukwuka is also an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University (GGU) School of Law, San Francisco, California, USA, wherein She teaches terrorism and Counter-terrorism Law, a course she designed and developed for the school. She mentors postgraduate students.Professor Okpala-Chukwuka holds an S.J.D. [Ph.D. in Law] in International Legal Studies from GGU, an LL.M. in American Legal Jurisprudence with certification in International Law from Whittier Law School, Costa Mesa, California, an LL.B. from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria and a B.L from Nigeria Law school. Additionally, she holds a Higher National Diploma, B.Sc equivalent, in Business Administration and Management.She was an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Business Management, Eastern Polytechnic, Kenema, Sierra Leone, where she lectured core law courses. Dr. Chinyere Okpala Chukwuka was a Graduate Research Assistant to the Directors of the LL.M. program at Whittier Law School and the SJD program in International Legal Studies at GGU, respectively.She is a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. She practiced with Mogboh, Offiah & Co., and Chris O. Okpala Law firms in the eastern part of Nigeria.Professor Chinyere Okpala- Chukwuka serves as a Rapporteur, moderator cum Presenter at the GGU’s Annual Fulbright international legal studies Symposium. She also sits on S.J.D. [Ph.D.] students’ Dissertation Committees. Dr. Okpala Chukwuka is an Editorial Committee Member of the Law and Business Research Network (LBRN) Nigeria.Dr. Okpala-Chukwuka holds the following titles to her honor: A Re-Assesment of the effectiveness of OAU (AU) conventions on preventing and combating terrorism; Comparative and Foreign Law Digital Commons, Confronting Terrorism: Quo Vadis African Union? Published in 2015 by Vandeplas Publishing. Another of her book titled Counterterrorism and Human rights at a crossroad is with the press.
