Faculty Bio

Dr. Matt Pearcy is a U.S. Army historian who has taught history for twenty years and, for the last ten, in an online setting. His earned degrees include a Ph.D. in History from the University of North Texas (UNT), a Master's in Information Science, also from UNT, an MA from the University of Mississippi, and a BA from Indiana University. He has been affiliated with the University of North Texas and the College of St. Scholastica in Minnesota. His teaching philosophy is guided by a sense that learning is most transformational when student driven, and he works to promote a safe and highly interactive classroom environment that empowers students and gives them voice.
