Faculty Bio

Matthew Brake attended Elim Bible Institute in Rochester, NY for his undergraduate work in Biblical Studies. He came to Virginia Beach to attend Regent University's School of Divinity where he graduated with a Master's of Divinity in 2009 after completing his thesis Soren Kierkegaard & Pentecostalism: A Dialogue, a study of the role that religious experiences and spiritual transformation play in the writings of Kierkegaard and in Pentecostal theology. Matt has been a youth pastor, a traveling youth minister, and a church planter. Currently, he works as a philosophy instructor and an academic advisor.
