Faculty Bio

Dr. Okpala Micheal Okemefuna is an experienced practicing Clinical Psychologist and Director, Empathy Psychological Services, Awka, Anambra State, a business organization registered with Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria. He is the Deputy Chief Consultant of Vox Health Center for Counselling and Psychotherapy, Catholic Diocese of Awka. He lectures at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria. His research interests are on treatment that works for persons (in recognition of individual differences) that present with mental health issues due to exposure to traumatic events or stressful life experiences, and on improvement of overall psychological well-being of human, even when there is no presentation of any psychological disturbance. He has creditably carried out the following roles of a Clinical Psychologist: to assess, to diagnose, to treat, to teach and to research. He has some published academic works to his credit, and loves reading, watching football matches and playing scrabble.
