This course is broad-based, covering topics relevant to senior-level executives in the day-to-day management of healthcare organizations. Emphasis is given to theories and their practical application instead of preparing fiscal and financial transactions. This course uses a “big picture” approach rather than micromanaging, covering the economic effects of fiscal policy and forecasts at the federal, state, and local government sectors, particularly taxation, government spending, health economics, and public finance.
- Interpret a health organization’s economic performance according to its financial statement.
- Develop fiscal plans.
- Develop operating plans based on financial and fiscal trends and results.
- Derive and discuss concise conclusions and recommendations for action to a Board of Directors.
