MIR 500 Introduction to International Relations

This course is an introduction to basic principles of international relations within the political science framework. The course examines theories of realism and liberalism in the context of world politics.

  • Discuss different analytical and theoretical stances used in international relations to explain world politics.
  • Trace the historical development of interstate relations.
  • Describe issues relevant to international relations, national security, war, and trade, among others.
