History of Sacred Music is an introductory course about the story of Christian Music from Gregorian chant to the Black
Gospel style of Music.

Learning Outcomes:

• Demonstrate a basic knowledge of important composers nd works associated to western Sacred Music.
• To relate understanding of stylistic trends throughout aural ecognition and analysis of representative works.
• Recognize the different generes of music and trace their evelopment throughout the most important historical periods.
• Recognize and describe the development of instruments all through music history.
