Course Description

This course examines assessment practices and strategies to improve students’ learning and enhance teachers’ performance. In this course, attention is particularly given to types of assessments, standardized tests, and developmental screenings administered to the 21st-century student. Other topics covered in this course are measurements used for assessing the learning of students with special educational needs and learners from culturally different backgrounds.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Develop skills and knowledge in assessing learners and investigating various evaluation instruments.
  • Critically analyze and interpret assessment data to improve students’ performance in the classroom.
  • Discuss the measures and practices used in identifying school readiness skills and educational interventions.
  • Develop skills in building a system of assessment designed to enhance learning
