School of Philosophy

Leading the School of Philosophy and Religion at Charisma University is Dr. Jufang Tseng, a distinguished academic and educator with a rich and varied background. Originating from Taiwan, Dr. Tseng brings a unique intercultural perspective to her role. She holds a B.A. in Radio and TV and an M.A. in Religious Studies from National Chengchi University in Taiwan. Furthering her academic pursuit, she obtained a Ph.D. in Religion and Culture from the Catholic University of America. Her educational journey across different continents has endowed her with a profound understanding of diverse cultural and religious landscapes.

Dr. Tseng’s expertise spans across Comparative Religion, Chinese Religions and Philosophies, World Religion, Theology of Marriage and Family, Religion and Culture, and Christian Spirituality. Her extensive academic pursuits are complemented by hands-on experience in global religious practices. In 2000, she participated in mission training in South Africa and India through the Council for World Mission, which significantly enriched her practical understanding of religious dynamics in various cultural settings. Back in Taiwan, she contributed to the Presbyterian Churches, engaging in ecumenical, youth, and musical ministries. This blend of academic and practical experiences underlines Dr. Tseng’s holistic approach to religious and philosophical studies.

As the Dean of the School, Dr. Tseng is committed to fostering an academic environment that is both intellectually rigorous and culturally inclusive. She champions interdisciplinary learning, encouraging students to examine philosophical and religious concepts through a global lens.
