Course Description

This course explores the factors surrounding effective leadership and supervision theories that lead to school improvement and quality education. Through this course, students learn about leadership and supervisory approaches at the individual and school levels. Topics covered in this course include leadership theories applied to schools and education, supervision for learning, culture and change, mentoring, ethical leader and supervisor practices, and educational and supervision policies and standards

Learning Outcomes:

  • Critically analyze leadership and supervision theories and principles to ensure educational quality and school improvement.
  • Understand approaches to becoming a trustworthy and ethical educational leader or supervisor.
  • Understand the linkages between educational leadership, supervision, and quality educational outcomes.
