Course Description

BHIT 209 Tourism Geography explores global tourist destinations, offering in-depth insights into the key features of the regional geography associated with these destinations. This course covers major destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and the Americas. Students also learn about the setting for tourism in certain countries and the demand and supply side of tourism, including transport, organization, and resources. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify countries, primary cities, and geographical landmarks across continents worldwide that are considered important tourism destinations.
  • Understand the setting for tourism in certain countries.
  • Critically analyze the demand and supply for tourism in selected countries.
  • Critically analyze issues in tourism and geography and how these issues may be addressed.
