Course Description

BHIT 400 Business Statistics introduces students to business statistics to inform decision-making in business endeavors. Through this course, students learn a range of statistical models and analytical methods and their applications and respective purposes. This course also covers essential concepts, approaches, and methods in business statistics, including data structures and sources, data collection, data representation, measures of central tendency, correlation and regression analysis, probability, theory of sampling, and hypothesis testing. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the basic statistical computations using formulas and datasets provided in class.
  • Develop statistical thinking and methodology skills to inform business decisions and analyze business issues and challenges.
  • Learn how to apply statistics tools and analyses to business problems.
  • Effectively communicate information through statistical and graphical procedures using Microsoft Excel.
