Course Description

BHIT 435 Legal Aspects of Hospitality and Tourism Management critically examines the pertinent laws, regulations, and policies applicable to tourism and hospitality. Through this course, students develop an understanding of compliance requirements and associated issues, with attention to sustainability laws. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the role of the government in hospitality and tourism.
  • Critically analyze legal issues in hospitality and tourism policy, planning, and governance.
  • Understand sustainability laws, associated issues in tourism and hospitality, and how the issues might be addressed.
  • Learn and discuss the legal aspects of hospitality and tourism internationally.
