Course Description

This course explores various taxation concepts and legislations, highlighting the role of taxation in decision-making and business. Students will also gain insights into addressing the international aspects of company taxation.

Learning Outcomes:

Examine tax frameworks applicable to businesses operating as companies, trusts, partnerships, or sole proprietors.
Analyze business transactions within the context of the goods and services tax.
Apply relevant taxation rules governing business purchases and sales.
Understand the impact of legislation and legislative changes on tax law for both unincorporated and incorporated businesses.
Learn how to handle capital assets.
Master the preparation of tax returns and accurate computations for unincorporated businesses, as well as correctly complete corporation tax returns with supporting computations for incorporated businesses.
