Course Description

This course explores various taxation concepts and legislations, highlighting the role of taxation in decision-making and business. Students will also gain insights into addressing the international aspects of company taxation.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Examine tax frameworks applicable to businesses operating as companies, trusts, partnerships, or sole proprietors.
  • Analyze business transactions within the context of the goods and services tax.
  • Apply relevant taxation rules governing business purchases and sales.
  • Understand the impact of legislation and legislative changes on tax law for both unincorporated and incorporated businesses.
  • Learn how to handle capital assets.
  • Master the preparation of tax returns and accurate computations for unincorporated businesses, as well as correctly complete corporation tax returns with supporting computations for incorporated businesses.
