Course Description

COM 211 Business Communication II is a continuation of COM 210 Business Communication I. Therefore, COM 211 Business Communication II also explores linguistic approaches to business communication, focusing on lexical phenomena and scholarly approaches to business communication, emphasizing corporate language and design. Topics in this course include the structure of economic and business terms; metaphor, metonymy, and euphemism in the language of economics and business; the language of marketing and accounting; business lexicography; and organizational and spoken workplace discourse. Prerequisite: COM 210.
