Course Description

HCA 333 Healthcare Delivery System examines the healthcare delivery system of the United States from a system perspective to provide theoretical foundations, methodologies, and case studies in each system sector. In this course, students learn about methods, theories, and models and their application to the design, evaluation, and optimization of the operations of the healthcare system to improve patient outcomes and cost-effectiveness. Students also learn the organization and characteristics of the health care delivery system, payment and reimbursement systems, agencies in health care, mental health services, the functions of health care providers, patient assessment, and evidence-based practice.
