Course Description

HRM 304 Employee Benefits and Compensations explores methods and techniques to maximize the return on employee costs, which accounts for more than 50 percent of operating costs in many firms. In this course, students learn how to develop and implement a compensation and benefits system that is reliable, efficient, and effective. Students also learn about employee compensation and benefits programs integral to successful staff retention and motivation. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Engage in critical discussions on the underlying concepts required to create an effective total compensation and benefits program.
  • Acquire practical and comprehensive knowledge of the intricacies of reward systems.
  • Apply motivation theories in the design of employee benefits and compensations.
  • Formulate, evaluate, and communicate conclusions and inferences from both quantitative and qualitative information.
