Course Description

HRM 402 Intercultural Management examines the importance of intercultural competence in the workplace, its perceptual nature, and major theoretical concepts. Through this course, students learn about the foundational intercultural competence models and the linkages between intercultural competence and multicultural team dynamics, teamwork challenges, and team development.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the importance of intercultural competence in the professional setting, its perceptual nature, and its dimensions.
  • Learn and discuss the foundational intercultural competence models and theoretical concepts on intercultural competence.
  • Critically analyze the major types of cross-national and cross-cultural studies and the features of quantitative and qualitative inquiry.
  • Understand the associations between intercultural competence, multicultural team dynamics, teamwork challenges, and team development.
