Course Description

POL 100 Introduction to Political Science introduces students to the world of political science from a Christian perspective. Through this course, students learn many different areas of study in politics. This includes exploring the main ideas that are a part of political life, the institutions that make it function well, policies that are important to citizens, and international aspects of politics. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the world of political science and use the knowledge to be better citizens of God’s kingdom.
  • Develop into informed citizen-participant in debates and discussions of governing choices.
  • Learn how governments are responsible for promoting public justice for all citizens in a way that allows them the freedom and opportunity to flourish as they were created to do.
  • Critically analyze issues in political science and identify solutions to the issues while maintaining a primary identity in Christ and membership in the church.
