Course Description

ECON 100 Introduction to Economics introduces students to the foundations of economic theories, models, and concepts that will allow them to analyze and understand the significant social issues of contemporary times. Moreover, through this course, students learn to analyze economic issues fundamentally, logically, and scientifically based on the rationale that the only authorities in economics, as in any science, are logic and evidence. Topics covered in this course include the origins of economic theory, labor, land, capital as tangible assets, consumption, demand and supply, making products and profits, and their social ramifications.

  • Understand the theoretical foundations of economics.
  • Proficiently analyze economic issues in a fundamental, logical, and scientific manner.
  • Learn and discuss key economics concepts, models, and computations.
  • Critically analyze the social ramifications of economics.
