Course Description

ECON 368 Antitrust and Regulation introduces students to the economic and legal analyses of antitrust regulation and cases. In the process, students also learn about issues in economic principles and legal theory applied to antitrust legislation, how these may be resolved, and potential tensions between economic and legal models that may arise in case analyses. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Critically analyze antitrust regulations from the perspectives of the law and economics.
  • Critically analyze case summaries and decisions on economic and legal grounds.
  • Apply economic principles and legal theory in analyzing antitrust issues.
  • Learn and discuss potential tensions between economic and legal perspectives in relation to antitrust analyses.
